Personality:
Kakuzu is one of the most cold hearted and brutal members of Akatsuki to date. Within the organisation itself, Kakuzu is particularly renowned for having killed all of his partners due to his growing impatience with them. This is in part, one of the reasons why he was partnered with Hidan, as it is impossible to kill him, which results in much frustration from Kakuzu. The man himself is ruled by money to the highest degree. In his opinion, money is the only solid substance in the world which can be relied upon and utterly dependant of.
While it is questionable just how much Kakuzu would put money first, he has always maintained a strong loyalty to Akatsuki. Never had Kakuzu put a bounty before them, or even refused to accept the most daunting of missions. Such undeniable attatchment has made Kakuzu the "Treasurer of Akatsuki".
Despite his flaring temper and impatience, Kakuzu is very cautious in battle and will never rush into the fray without good reason. Usually he will try and pull off a few tricky encounters, which will allow him to judge the ability of the opponent before he gets the big guns out. He is known to be very admirable of a thinking opponent and enjoys the challenge of overcoming one.
Apperance:
Kakuzu is a tall brooding figure, dark skinned, with green eyes and an odd colour of red sclera. While the majority of his body is covered by his Akatsuki robe, underneath shows the daunting body modifactions that Kakuzu has endured. His limbs are sewn together, while underneath his flesh is the wriggling Earth Grudge Fear kinjutsu that he had stolen from his village. It allows him to stretch his body parts and retract them as he see's fit, before sewing them up together.
His hair is cut shoulder length but the majority of his head is covered by a hood and mask, making only his eyes and eyebrows visable. Underneath his robe he wears a bagged black tank top, pants and sandals which they are tucked into.
History:
Kakuzu was born before the famous ninja villages of today were even introduced. As a young infant, the villages had come together and as a result, he would become a ninja of Takigakure. His upbringing was rather plain, however, as he progressed into his early twenties, Kakuzu was regarded as one of Takigakure's elite. He was given the task of tracking down Senju Hashirama and killing him, which Kakuzu accepted despite the overbearing danger that came with the mission. When Kakuzu met with Hashirama, he was defeated easily due to his Wood Release techniques and Kakuzu returned to the village, informing that his mission did not succeed.
The village reacted poorly to Kakuzu's mission failure and punished him severely and imprisoned him due to his intolerence. Unable to muster up the logic as to why the village would hold such hatred towards him for putting his life on the line, Kakuzu soon developed a deep hate for Takigakure during the time he spent in their prison and soon after his escape.
In turn of the punishment Kakuzu had received, before he left he killed each of the village elders, stole their hearts and left with Takigakure's secret technique, "Earth Grudge Fear". To make his living, Kakuzu took part in bounty hunting and ripped out the hearts of his opponents in order to extend his own life-span. Akatsuki took note of this and recruited Kakuzu into their ranks, also making him the Treasurer.
Kakuzu had many partners, most of whom he killed due to his impatience with them. Eventually he was partnered up with a man called Hidan, whom he could not kill due to his own abilities. They both share what seems to be a mutual hate for each other, but due to their techniques complimenting each other, they have become a deadly partnership.
