Neji is male. He has large, pupil-less grayish white eyes. He also has straight black hair that comes down to his mid-back and ties at the end approximately 2 and half inches from the very tip. His headband covers up his forehead and bears the Konoha village sign. His skin is creamy white and his face is matured into a more adult look. Neji is muscular and built but his skin is barely shown at all. His body is completely covered up by a grayish white shirt and pants with a black skirt-like flap at the waist hanging down to about his knees. His feet are covered in the standard black shinobi shoes. That leaves his ankes, toes, hands, neck, and head left uncovered. While Byakugan is activated, Neji's veins pop out around his eyes and give him a look as if he is possessed.

Neji is very intelligent and calm. He had once believed that destiny was chosen by fate itself and could not be changed but after an encounter with Naruto Uzumaki, Neji became well-rounded and resolved his problems. He did not believe in destiny’s decision anymore and is continuing to gain power and strength as a jounin. He once despised his sister Hinata and her father until coming to realize that he had not been told the whole truth. Hinata’s father told him the true story of Neji’s father’s death. Neji now respects his cousin Hinata and wishes for her to gain power and to be acknowledged. He also respects his uncle and wishes the best for all of his family members. Neji is very nice and intelligent. He is calm and always acknowledges his companions. In the time of battle, Neji is serious and determined to defeat his opponent. He will fight to the death if he must and is one of the best ninja to have on your side.

Neji is considered the very genius of the Hyuuga clan, the possessors of the Byakugan. As a child, Neji was a member of a lower and much less respected branch of the clan. Though, he has obtained all of the skills to be taught to the main family line of the clan. When he was very young, a seal was placed upon his forehead. It was diverse and each member of the main family would be able to activate this seal. After the seal is activated, Neji would be set in a state of extreme pain and agony. He would soon die and every trace of his bloodline would be washed away with his soul. Thankfully, this has not yet happened.

Neji was the son of Hizashi, the twin brother of Hiashi, the heir to being the leader of the main house. The main family line decided on tossing Hizashi away and into the lower family because of being born only minutes after Hiashi. Hiashi was put into the main house. Neji loved his father and spent a lot of time with him.

Later in the years, Kumo and Konoha ended a very long war with each other. Both villages were to sign a peace treaty the night when Kumo's strongest jounin tried to kidnap the daughter of Hiashi, Hinata Hyuuga. Hiashi caught him... and killed him. Kumo was extremely difficult when it came to understanding. The village threatened to start a new war against Konoha unless the ninja who killed their Jounin was executed. That ninja was, of course, Hiashi. Kumo completely overlooked the fact that the Hiashi was simply defending his daughter as she was being kidnapped and something had to be done.

Action needed to be taken. The elder of the Hyuuga clan decided. They, of course, did not wish to see the heir to the leader's position of the Hyuuga clan dead. So... They decided that Hiashi's twin brother, Hizashi would need to be killed instead. Hizashi was later executed and his soul was taken from the earth. Neji was devastated at the fact. He developed pure hatred and resentment of the main family line of the Hyuuga clan. Neji's anger followed him through life.

At age 12, Neji became a Genin after spending time in the Konoha ninja academy. He was placed into a team with Rock Lee, a Taijutsu-specialist and a Maito Gai wannabe, and TenTen, a peppy young kunoichi. Maito Gai, a Jounin of Konoha and Kakashi Hatake's rival, was the three Genin's sensei. They were then known as Team Gai because of their sensei's love of life and love of himself. Through the following year, Gai taught his skills of Taijutsu to his students. He took a liking to Rock Lee, whom was unable to ever beat Neji during training thrugh that year. TenTen discouraged Lee and Neji stayed neutral in the act. The team did missions during the year.

In the middle of the following year, Gai entered Neji, Lee, and TenTen into the Chunnin Exams. By this point in the life of the three Genin, they worked well together. They were eah eager to prove their abilities to each of the other competitors. Team Gai breezed by with ease across the first part of the exams. The written exams. It was simple enough. The second exam involved the forest of death. Each team was either given a heaven or earth scroll and were to go to the tower in the center of the forest. Upon arrival, they had to have both types of scrolls which caused only half of the teams who entered to pass. Team Gai was headed for the tower, already, when Lee ran off to help Sakura, a kunoichi who doesn't even care for him, and save her from a team of sound ninja. Neji and TenTen were forced to go after him. Upon arrival, they saw a beaten Rock Lee being harassed by the sound ninja. Neji stopped them from going any further with the harassment. Before he could react and attack them, Sasuke, a Uchiha affected by Orochimaru's seal, rose from his beaten position. He was in stage 1 of his curse seal state. This caused him to be sadistic, hostile, and extremely evil. He was already powerful, but the seal overdid it. Sasuke broke the arms of one of the sound ninja and defeated the ninja. Team Gai later left the site of the battle and successfully got to the tower in the center of the forest of death.

The team advanced to the third stage of the chunnin exams, the preliminary rounds. After others fought, a machine randomized Neji's name and matched it with Hinata, his cousin's, name. Neji would have to fight another Hyuuga. He didn't care. Hinata was apart of the main branch of the Hyuuga clan, which he despised. Hinata possessed the same type of ability as Neji which was called Juuken, or "soft fist." This technique attacked at the target's internal organs and had the ability to cut off chakra ways as it attacked at the opponent's chakra points. Hinata's Juuken was unequal to Neji's and Neji's proved as much more effective. Neji then expressed his hatred for the main house. The main house expected each of their members to be more powerful than branch members. Neji easily beat Hinata. During the fight, Neji continuously exclaimed that Hinata was a loser which angered Naruto, the possesser of the Kyuubi, greatly. Hinata was knocked to the ground by Neji multiple times during the battle and only got up because of Naruto's constant encouragement. Neji grew frustrated with Hinata as she always stood back up. He grew enraged and as she stood back up the final time, he charged at her. The jounin who watched over the fight were the only beings that stopped Neji from killing Hinata right then and there. Hinata was rushed to the hospital and the fight was ended, Neji, the winner. Naruto trudged out onto the battlefield from his position on the wall balcony. He vowed to defeat Neji the next time he got the chance.

Naruto's hopes were granted, and as Neji called it, it was chosen by destiny. In the final rounds of the exam, Hiashi and Hinata were in the stands. Neji and Naruto faced off. Neji used a very large selection of Hyuuga clan jutsu, much to the impression of his uncle and his cousin, Hinata. Neji remained in the driver's seat for most of the battle and seemed to not care for the verbal spar of him and Naruto. They both argued about destiny in the battle. Naruto said that destiny was changeable and therefore able to be changed at the user's will. Neji, however, reffered to destiny as a being and said that it was unable to be changed and always made it's own path. Neji explained that Naruto could never be Hokage because destiny decided that he would beat Naruto and therefore always triumph over Naruto. Naruto disliked the argument intensely. Neji later forces Naruto into using the Kyuubi's red chakra in order to continue in the fight. Neji had shut down Naruto's chakra paths by using his Juuken style. Using the Hakke Rokujuuyonshou, Neji was able to block all of Naruto's attacks and continued to hold the upper hand in the battle. Later into the battle, Naruto used Kage Bunshin. During such, he escaped underground and Neji fought and defeated the shadow clone. It had seemed as if Neji had won. As Neji gave his overconfident victory speech, Naruto dug beneath him. Suddenly, the shadow clone dispersed into dust and Naruto charged out of the ground like a missile and punched Neji in the chin and up into the air. This knocked Neji out and Naruto won the fight.

After the chunnin exams, Hiashi, Neji's uncle, met up with Neji in the infermery. Hiashi explained the story of Hizashi's death. It turned out, much to Neji's surprise that his father, Hizashi, had left him a letter. The letter told of his father's true death and how he had not been forced to be executed. It was his choice and he accepted it. Also, if Hiashi was executed rather than Hizashi, the secrets of the Hyuuga bloodline could very easily come into the wrong hands. After this, Neji's resentment and hatred for the main family line lessened greatly and he finally began to accept his sister. His attitude changed and he became a more loyal companion to his comrades.

2 months after the attack on Konoha and the chunnin exams, Tsunade, a very powerful old woman with amazing healing powers, is now Hokage and Sasuke is being taken away to Orochimaru by the Sound 5, a team of 5 very powerful sound ninja who each bare a curse mark given to them by Orochimaru. The team consisted of Sakon, Tayuya, Jirobo, Kimimaro, and Kidoumaru, whom of which Neji would later fight. Sasuke was being held in a large, sealed barrel. Shikimaru, a newly-found chunnin, was to lead a team of genin consisting of: Naruto Uzumaki, Neji Hyuuga, Chouji Akimichi, and Kiba Inuzaka. Later, Rock Lee and Garra would join and fight Kimimaro.

Neji ended up having to fight Kidoumaru, a chunnin-ranked sound ninja with spider-based abilities. Neji was at a great disadvantage, for Kidoumaru's attacks were acted from great distances. The spider-like ninja was even ableto find the only blind-spot of the Byakugan, the main technique of the Hyuuga family Kekke Genkai. This was located just above the upper back. Neji continued to fight strong with one thing in mind. The Hyuuga clan was the best of the best and it needed to stay that way. Neji disregarded all of his theories of destiny and was able to dig up some power from within him and survive the attacks after attacks from Kidoumaru. He put his life on the line in order to finally defeat Kidoumaru.

Neji would've died if it weren't for Shizune, a medic-nin and the assitant of Tsunade, and other medical ninja which arrived shortfly after the great battle.

Over the following years, Neji, Rock Lee, and TenTen finally passed the chunnin exams and Neji was soon promoted up to jounin. During this time period, Neji began to further accept the theories of the Hyuuga clan and even began to look more like a Hyuuga as he began wearing robes instead of the regular Konoha jounin uniform.

At age 17, Neji is now a jounin he now runs around the village helping his teamates and completing any missions needed.
