Just so everyone's on the same page when it comes to the overall way that characters from certain villages act, the jutsu they use, and so on, I decided to make a thread pointing out the main facets of each village. If there are any disputes over these, please contact an administrator or post in the Questions and Comments board. • KONOHAGAKUREThis is the largest village in the shinobi universe with a diverse population, and it resides in the Land of Fire. The people here are usually kind, open individuals who will go out of their way to help others but, like every place, there are those who do have have good intentions. Although the release is still rare, this village has the most concentrated number of users of the fire release. The village is renowned for its schools and the great quality of shinobi that they produce. It has the most power and influence of all the countries, and it is one of the five Great Shinobi Villages, although these have both dwindled since the attack of Orochimaru. Its leader is the Hokage, and there have been five thus far. It has been at peace since the Third Great Shinobi War and its closest ally is Sunagakure. • SUNAGAKUREThis village resides in the Land of Wind, and its leader is known as the Kazekage. There have been five thus far, and it is the second largest village next to Konohagakure, which is its greatest ally. While the wind release is the rarest of the major releases, it seems that the majority of this village possesses it, and the Puppet Technique and Cloth Binding Technique are common practices. Shinobi from this village also often use fans in their jutsu. The village itself is protected by a large, naturally-formed clay wall, and the shinobi that serve it seem to mirror this with their usually stoic natures and drive to put their missions above all else. • KIRIGAKUREKirigakure is one of the five Great Shinobi Villages, is located in the Land of Water, and its leader is the Mizukage. It is has earned the nickname of the "Bloody Mist Village" because of the infamous training they once put their Academy students in to graduate, in which a full-on death math was waged where the last one left standing was given the title of Genin. Once Momochi Zabuza, a boy that had never entered the Academy once, came and slaughtered everyone in the class and gained the title, they changed their ways to better suit the teachings of the other villages. Another part of their dark history was their huning of anyone with a Kekkei Genkai. Their shinobi created a bloodbath where anyone with a bloodline limit was put to death, and only a handful were able to escape this fate. With this in mind, it is only natural that the shinobi from this village could fall into the category of "blodthirsty." They kill without remorse and complete their duties with an almost robot-like attitude. They are pure killing machines that will not hesitate to pick a fight. • IWAGAKUREIwagakure is another of the five Great Shinobi Villages and is located in the Land of Earth. The Tsuchikage is the leader, and it is known throughout the shinobi world that this village once made deals with the Akatsuki. This is something that many look down on the village for, but it does not seem ashamed of its encounters with the rouge group. It has a natural defense thanks to its location in a region brimming with mountains, and the shinobi of the village have the same rock-hard determination. They do whatever their leader says without hesitation, even if it means giving their lives in the process. • KUMOGAKURENot much is known about this village other than the facts that it is literally hidden in the clouds. It sits atop a mountainous region that pierces the sky, and its leader is the Raikage. It is one if the five Great Shinobi Villages. It is located in the Land of Lightning, and its shinobi are known for their lightning release techniques and use of swords. • TAKIGAKUREThis village is the only one outside of the five Great Shinobi Villages that is in possession of a jinchuuriki, and it is centered around a large tree. Even though it is surrounded by four other countries, it has yet to be invaded, and its inhabitants are excessively proud of this. The villagers seem to have a great pride about them, and they shun anyone who does not fit into their idea of "society," especially their jinchuuriki and their former member Kakuzu. They are also known for their ability to produce Hero Water every hundred years, though its effects can prove fatal to the user. • AMEGAKUREAmgakure, even through the destruction it has faced in wars between other countries as their battleground because of its location, is a small, yet highly-industrialized country. The shinobi that resde there are known for their skill in genjutsu. The country itself strives to make each shinobi better than the last and, in this, creates new and original jutsu. They are also frequently hired by other villages because of their development in assassination techniques. • HOSHIGAKUREThis is one of the lesser-known villages in the shinobi universe and was formed when a meteor fell and nothing could grow around it. The villagers learned that they could harvest the power of the comet, which they called a "star," to multiply their chakra to an almost unrivaled power. They developed a new style called the Mysterious Peacock Method and placed the meteor in a dojo for the sole purpose of training new shinobi; however, when they learned that the effects of the training and the star's radiation lead to weakened organs and organ failure, the Third Hoshikage--a kage only by name--banned the practice in order to save the lives of the remaining shinobi. Akahoshi, who had other plans, assassinated the Third and took over his leading position to reinstate the practice in hopes of being recognized by the other villages. Naruto and Team Guy were sent over and learned the secret and after Akahoshi implanted the comet in his chest, Naruto destroyed it, forever ending the training. • GETSUGAKUREThere is not much known about Getsugakure other than it has a link to Tsukigakure, a crescent-shaped island known because of its attraction to gamblers and pleasure-seekers. This is the hidden village that protects the main island and is located on the coast of the main land mass. • KUSAGAKUREOne of the more obscure villages, Kusagakure is known for producing shinobi that are skilled in diplomacy and analyzing jutsu from deceased shinobi. The lands around this village are filled with forests that house giant mushrooms, deep valleys, and ravines. • YUKIGAKUREYukigakure was located in what was once known as the Land of Snow, but it is now called the Land of Spring. It was covered in snow, but after Naruto and gang visited the village and discovered its secret, the snow melted away to reveal an eternal spring. The shinobi from this village are known for their kekkei genkai based on the ice release, and it seems that every shinobi also posesses the ability to use its parent releases: water and wind. • OTOGAKUREThis is not a village as much as it is a collection of hideouts based in the Land of Sound and scattered in other lands. It is Orochimaru's band created for the sole purpose of him learning every jutsu, and its shinobi have diverse jutsu and are mostly centered around any modifications that Orochimaru has made to them.
