Ketsueki Sango 17 ♬ Otogakure ♬ Jounin
Early Life♬ When Sango was born, her parents were absolutely stunned. They had hoped and wished for a boy, but they decided to make due with their new daughter. She was raised just as the other Ketsueki girls: nothing more than a way to continue their family's bloodline. Sango, like most children, was naive and went along with the rest of the clan. She took classes to become a good mother which included cooking, cleaning, and flower arranging among many others, and Sango excelled in them all; however, there was one thing different about her than the other Ketsueki members. Her eyes were extremely sensitive to light because of the lack of pigment in her eyes. She began to wear a protective covering over them, and with time, her other senses developed significantly. She was able to walk around during the day and became able to feel others and recognize them by their chakra alone.
♬Kirigakure The Ketsueki kekkei genkai was able to instill fear in many people, especially those that knew their true power. Their chakra and blood networks meshed and fused into one another, meaning that they were able to freely control their blood to become a weapon. They found, though, that after using so much of this power in battle, their bodies were not able to regenerate the blood fast enough to sustain them for long, and the clan found that the answer was to drink the blood of others, meaning cannibalism. This frightened many of the children in the Academy once Sango joined, and they mostly stayed away and left the girl to her own devices. This saddened the young girl, and she believed that she had become the target of bullying. When she went to her parents to ask them about it, they merely patted her and told her that everything would be alright. She continued in this fashion until the exams arose, and, with a heavy heart, Sango graduated and became a Genin. As she grew alongside her new cell, Sango began to realize that merely supporting her teammates wasn't enough. At first, she stayed in the background and ran over to heal them when they were injured, but after much debate on her part, she decided that she needed to learn useful jutsu that would help her fight. She told her parents this, and they became furious. They had just now begun to accept their daughter as a female, and she suddenly had a change in heart? At least, that's what they thought. They acted as if Sango had chosen her own gender and terrorized the young girl with threats that she should not learn anything that would actually hurt others. She was expected to merely bear children for the clan and to sit back and allow the male Ketsueki members to fight. It was then that Sango realized that she had been a puppet for her mother and father. She wanted now to learn new techniques more than ever and prove to them that she could be a deadly warrior just as the men were. She sneaked out at night and watched the men train to increase her knowledge of her own clan's jutsu and practiced them while she was with her teammates. If she ran low on blood, she would dismiss herself or wait until the mission or training session was over to meander through the streets and find a victim to draw blood from. Later on, when her teammates realized that she needed blood during a mission, one of them was brave enough to allow her to drink his own. She was amazed by the kindness shown to her and vowed to become even stronger in order to support the cell to the best of her abilities. Renegade♬ Life at home was truly a burden for Sango. Her family had put her through the Academy to become a medical kunoichi, and within a few years, she had turned herself into a fighter. Every day, she heard the complaints of her mother and father of her "lack of femininity" and her "betrayal" of the clan in her actions. She came to despise her mother and father and eventually came to blows with them. Hurt by the way she had been treated, Sango fled from home and went to see her teammates to tell them what happened. They sympathized with her and comforted the girl, but the family that had been living in the shadows of Kirigakure finally exposed themselves. Her mother and father came to the house she was at and chased Sango from the village.
Sango was flabbergasted. How could they do that to her? She stayed on the outskirts of the village for what felt like a month before finally returning home. When she did, she fell to her knees. Bodies were strewn everywhere, and the scent of blood drenched the air. She was lucky enough to come upon a male Ketsueki that had fallen in battle and took his weapon: two daggers held together by a long chain. The metal had been tempered to conduct chakra well enough to be used extremely effectively in battle, and Sango stashed it in her bag. She quickly found that many of the corpses belonged to her fellow Kirigakure shinobi as well as her family. She was at a loss for words. Why had her kinsmen turned on their family? When she heard a groggy moaning sound a distance away, Sango panicked and ran again outside the boarders of Kirigakure into the unknown.
Sango ran about the lands and stayed low as to not attract attention. She practiced her jutsu as needed and developed them effectively, and she fed on human blood only when needed. For the most part, she did not allow many people to see her kekkei genkai's techniques except when she wanted a live target to use. This worked well, and after a few years, she had perfected many of the jutsu and learned how to keep herself hidden from enemies.
♬Otogakure Her adventures like this continued for quite a while before she was approached by a shinobi from Otogakure who requested that she follow him. Since he was not hostile and his chakra was stable, she agreed and was brought to Otogakure to become part of their ranks. The use of her techniques and her unique kekkei genkai had caught the interest of Orochimaru, and he gave her the rank of Jounin so she would be able to teach the lower-class shinobi more effective battle tactics, especially since Sango herself had gained quite a bit of battlefield experience from living as a nuke-nin for such a long while.
