Notes::: Sorry if it rambles, starting isn't my strong suit xD[/style][style=width: 350; font-size: 11px; font-family: tahoma; color: BEE7C9; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; margin-top: 120px]Kaori sat at the front of the class, but her attention was anywhere but on her Sensei. It was only a few days until they got assigned to their Genin teams and she couldn’t seem to stop thinking about it. She was excited to move on to the next level and develop her abilities but she was also…scared.
She wasn’t scared of the missions, or the training, but what had her concerned was working with others. Kaori was fiercely independent and couldn’t imagine having to trust others to watch her back when it came down to the wire. She had been with her classmates for a good deal of time now and she would be lying if she said she was confident in all of their abilities.
Oh, that wasn’t to say that Kaori thought she was perfect—far from it. She wasn’t too physically strong, so if she was to pick a team she would pick shinobi with strong tyjutsu. But even if she was allowed to hand-pick her own team she would still be nervous. Teammates were unknown variables that were utterly unpredictable; honestly Kaori would feel safer going on missions by herself.
But that didn’t seem to be much of an option at this point, if she wanted to ever become something more than an Academy student. As long as they had a good Sensei to keep them in line, it wouldn’t be so bad, she supposed. Suddenly everyone was shuffling around and talking, a lot of people running for the door. Kaori’s head snapped up—had the bell rung already? How had she missed it? Cursing her day-dreaming the young girl stood up, rubbing her neck and heading towards the door.
But as she touched the doorknob she paused, glancing back at the teacher’s podium. Maybe she could take a peek at the lists, just so she wouldn’t have to worry about who she was going to be with. Surely he had them made up by now, but would he have left them here?
Kaori looked around cautiously before walking slowly over to the podium, touching the pages lightly. Should she really be doing this? She could get in so much trouble; it was definitely against the rules…but she couldn’t help it—she just wanted to be prepared, that was a good enough reason, right?
She stole herself and started flipping through the pages before she could chicken out. She tore past chakra planning programs and weapons technique training instructions before finally coming to a list. Names were clustered into four different groups, names of students crossed out with arrows going every which way.
It was almost incomprehensible, but at the top of each cluster was the name of a Jounin. Kaori scanned the page, looking for her name, but the page was so scattered it took her a full five minutes to trace the arrows back to her proper future Sensei.
Kaori knew that this was, of course, subject to change, but her name was scratched off in several other places, and her name and the Jounin’s were joined together in a circle. She squinted at the name; Muzan Shoichi. Wasn’t he the Jounin who was really young, or something? He hadn’t ever trained a Genin team—Kaori had been sure to do extensive research on all possible Sensei’s.
She threw down the paper and stepped away, crossing her arms over her chest. She couldn’t discern for sure who her teammates would be, but she knew the Sensei and she wasn’t happy about it. What were they thinking; sticking her with some upstart? Anger and indignation bubbled up in Kaori and she felt like punching something. She didn’t work this hard for years just to have her shot at passing the Chuunin exams ruined by a poor Sensei.
She needed to gather more information, gauge how bad the situation really was. With resolution much more mature than the average twelve year old she gathered herself and ran out the door, determined to learn as much as she could about this Muzan Shoichi. We're soldiers, instinctive, (We can bring change before we die.) THROUGH TAILS OF THE DEMONS, TO FEEL WHAT LIES BENEATH OUR EYES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Sho hummed a rather upbeat and light hearted tune as he sat on top of a large , four story apartment building. The air was cool and crisp and dark grey clouds hung over the village.
Not that it bothered Sho, he rather liked this kind of weather. He found the rain calming, it soothed him to the point he felt almost carefree. He drummed his fingers on the edge of the building and looked down at the people scurrying around beneath him.
From this high they almost did look like ants, trying to get their affairs in order before the rain come. With a sigh he looked up and shut his eyes, the wind flowing through his hair.
He had been in a particularly good mood since his fight with Kakashi. Everything felt all that more exciting. He pulled out the small book which he kept on him and flipped through it. Most of the jutsu depicted in the book was so alien to him.
It was taken much longer to translate than he had anticipated. After almost two days of constant reading he figured out that the parts of the book which detailed how to perform a certain jutsu was written in code and he was sure the explanation was in the book somewhere.
He paused reading when his stomach made a loud gurgling sound. He was starving and decided to head to ichiraku ramen, which was not that far away.
His days of late had been slow and lazy. He learnt he was finally getting the chance to Sensei a genin team and the academy were in the final stages of choosing who would get who.
He worried about getting a team, he knew he would be sent on mission without them. With the Akatsuki starting to move, he was not going to sit on the sidelines after devoting the past few years of his life to finding them.
If they showed their faces, Sho would be there.
With a sigh he placed the book in back inside his coat. He leapt to and from a handful of roofs before dropping down right in front of the ramen shop.
He ducked inside the flaps and took a seat. The old man smiling at him. He had been coming here regularly over the past few years and the man knew what he liked to order.
It wasn't long before he had his book open again and was eating his food slowly, savouring the taste in all it's glory.

Taiyo had been assign a sensei, but he had yet to meet them just yet. He was not sure who he was exactly or what he was like. His brother had decided not to tell him anything. He was not even sure if Baito actually knew his assigned sensei was.
Taiyo had woken up when his mother yelled at him to wake up and do his chores for the morning. He rolled out of bed and scratched his nose slightly and looked over to Myou who was asleep still at the end of his bed. He moved and shook her awake. ”Come on…come help with the chores…” He muttered to her and then petted her behind her ear. He then pushed himself off the bed and quickly changed for the day. He grabbed his headband from the side table of his bed and slipped it around his neck.
For nearly an hour him and Myou had ran around the house cleaning the house. There was no one home but him and a few other dogs they cared for. After everything was done and picked up his money pouch and slipped it into his pocket and smirked slightly. He turned and looked at Myou slightly.
”I still have some birthday money left over, thought about getting you a nice treat, Myou. How does that sound?” Taiyo smiled when she gave him a bark. He bent down and petted her slightly while she liked the side of his face. He laughed slightly and walked out of the house and down the street after locking the door behind them.
Taiyo looked up at the sky to see that it looked like it was going to rain. ”We could train today…that might do us some good…Baito always said that we need to work a bit harder in different types of weather.” He heard Myou give a whimper not liking the idea of training in the nasty weather that would soon be on them. He smirked some and shook his head.
He lead the way towards the market area and glanced around and purchased a few strawberries and tossed one to Myou as they walked around. This would do for now, but he knew he was going to be hungry sooner than later. He moved about and picked up some new kunias and then smirked as he placed them in their hoister on his leg. He looked at Myou when she barked slightly.
”No I have not forgotten what I promised you, mutt.” He said jokingly has she jumped up on his leg. He reached down and picked her up and petted her. ”Lunch first. Lets go have some ramen!”
He placed her down and smirked some. ”One…two…three!” He started to run down the streets has Myou barked and chased after him. It was one of their favorite things to do was race each other and there was not stopping them once they had the notion in their heads.
Taiyo moved down the street dodging people here and there that were now yelling at him and the dog to slow down and watch where they were going. Taiyo saw a cart in the middle of the street that was stopped. He grinned and placed his hand on the edge has he drew near and pushed up and jumped over the cart as he saw Myou simply run under it has she gave a bark since she over took him.
”Lousy dog!! No fair!!” He said as he came up on the ramen shop short of breath to watch Myou panting to catch her own. ”Yea you won, lucky dog. I would have…” He muttered slightly and walked under the coverings and sat down beside the unknown Jounin. Myou was at his feet laying down now.

In fact, she wasn’t even sure if today was the day to do it. The sky hung heavy and ominous with rain and the wind flicked her long hair across her face. Impatiently she pushed it away, sticking her hands in her jacket pockets as she began walking.
She didn’t really know where she was going, maybe to look for someone who might know this Jounin. She couldn’t ask her Sensei, then he’d surely know that she had looked at the list. She didn't want to take the chance, sure that it would jeopardize her chance of moving on to Genin. She touched the place on her arm she had already decided to wear her headband when she got it, a small smile pulling on her lips.
Her thoughts got side tracked and she hardly remembered what she was doing out in the icky weather to begin with. Kaori began to wonder if her parents were home, but she assumed not. Her father had left for a mission only a few days ago and probably wouldn’t be home for another week. And with all the recent developments her mother wasn’t allowed to talk about Kaori had hardly said a word to her mother all week. She let out an almost inaudible sigh, not wanting to feel bad for herself but not really able to help it.
The sky was even darker now and as she turned her face up to look at it a single drop of rain landed on her cheek. She wiped it away and stopped walking, looking out in front of her. The streets were almost deserted; the rain was probably going to start coming down heavy any minute! “Oh no…” Kaori muttered, breaking into a run and heading for home.
Unfortunately her house was on the other side of the village, and she only got about halfway before it became a downpour. She wasn’t going to keep going, it was getting hard to see and she was already soaked to the bone. Up ahead she saw a little ramen shop that she had been in a few times, and decided to take shelter in there.
She barely had to duck to get under the flaps, already being so short. She leaned against the wall, trying to catch her breath as she wrung out her wet hair. “Well that was fun.” Kaori said a bit sarcastically, falling onto one of the stools and promptly laying her head down in her arms.
The man behind the counter asked if she wanted anything and she looked up, the light returning to her eyes. Warm food sounded amazing; she only hoped she had enough money on her. “Yeah, may I have the Shōyu ramen, please?” Kaori said, her eyes quickly scanning the menu and picking the first thing that sounded familiar.
As the man turned away Kaori looked around for the first time, realizing there were two other people sitting at the ramen bar. She recognized the one closest to her and smiled, saying quickly, “Oh, hi Taiyo-san, at least you look dry.” Even though she hadn’t talked much with the other young shinobi she had always admired his dog—she was cute. Kaori didn’t pay much mind to the man sitting on Taiyo’s other side, not recognizing him.
