It has been ten years since since the "Great Divergence", a time period historically referred to as A.D. (After the "Great Divergence"). Recently, word of a Practice Chūnin Exam tournament has spread across the Shinobi. On the surface, it is an indicator of peace; a way of saying everything is forgotten, everything forgiven, and that all villages are at peace. Although they may not admit it, everything rides on the shoulders of this tournament. Everything has just gotten back to normal, and if anything happens at this tournament it could plunge the shinobi world back into chaos.
